Aam Aadmi Party Activist Shot Dead by Badal Dal leader in Moga: media reports

Chandigarh: As per media reports an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker was shot dead allegedly by a Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader. The two sides reportedly had a land dispute at Bhinder Kalan village in Dharamkot where the incident took place on Sunday (Sept. 26) evening.

According to Hindustan Times (HT), [t]he incident took place when Jagseer, a former sarpanch, along with his 15 accomplices, went to Jagroop’s fields and started ploughing the land. When Jagroop objected to it, the accused opened fire at him his nephew Pritpal Singh and father Jaura Singh.

Jagroop and Pritpal were referred to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, where Jagroop died.

Getting information about the incident, AAP leaders, including HS Phoolka and Ramesh Grover, rushed to the spot and condemned the incident.

Aam Aadmi Party leader and senior lawyer H. S. Phoolka, who went to lodge ‘zero’ first information report (FIR) at city south Moga police station, alleged that the police were not cooperating.
