No Whereabouts of Two picked up by Ludhiana Police; Lawyer writes to High Court

Ludhiana: As per information released by Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, a Ludhiana based Sikh lawyer, there is no information regarding whereabout of two persons namely Raj Singh Sahina and Manjinder Singh Hussainpur who were picked up by Ludhiana police on April 22, 2017 (Saturday). Duo were picked up at around 5 am on Saturday from Raj Singh Sahina’s house in Ludhiana.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who maintains the list of Sikh Political Prisoners said that Raj Singh’s wife Bibi Harpreet Kaur told him that the police came in 5/6 vehicles and most of them were not in uniforms. The police entered into the house by jumping over the walls of the house and apprehended the both Raj Singh and Manjinder Singh.

“She further said that the police also took away all the mobile phones, a Cherry Colour Tata Indigo car of Raj Singh, Motorcycle of Manjinder Singh, Laptop of Raj Singh and many books & other documents from their house”, Advo. Manjhpur added.

“After waiting till the evening, I wrote an email to Punjab and Haryana High Court as there was no information on the whereabouts of Raj Singh and Manjinder Singh”, Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told SSN over phone.

The family fears that duo may be implicated in any false case by the police, he added.
