New Delhi: As per the media reports controversial Indian Army Major Leetul Gogoi was awarded with Chief of Army Staff’s commendation card “on the spot” during his recent visit to Srinagar.

These Commendation Cards are usually awarded on January 26 or August 15. But General Bipin Rawat awarded it on his discretion, notes media reports.
It is further said that on his visit to the 15 Corps Headquarters at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar during his visit on May 1-2, the Army Chief made an on the spot announcement of the commendation award to the controversial Major Leetul Gogoi, despite the latter being absent from the occasion.
Notably, Major Leelut Gogoi had used a Kashmiri using as a human shield to ‘ward off stone pelters’.
