Dhuri: The Dhuri police in a response to an application moved by Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur and Advocate G S Sarao in Dhuri Court on 14th Feb 2017 in which they had asked for the status report of the case has here today stated that they no longer need Sikh Political prisoner Bhai Jagtar Singh in this case.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s counsel Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur while talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone said that the ”Dhuri police in its response filed in the court has stated that Bhai Jagtar Singh was not required/wanted by them in the FIR no No: 103/2005 registered against him 2005.
According to Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s counsels Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur and Advo G S Sarao the Tihar Jail authorities recently informed Bhai Jagtar Singh about various cases ‘pending’ against him in papers. Following which an application was moved in a Dhuri court by them on 14th Feb 2017 to know the status of the case.
The police told the court today that Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara was nominated in FIR No: 103/2005 and is no longer needed in this case”, Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told SSN over phone.
The court of Amandeep Kamboj heard the matter today where the local police filed the response along with cancellation report that some other persons named in this case were convicted by the trial court and their appeal was pending before the Punjab and Haryana High Court therefore the case file was with the High Court. The police with its report filed has acquitted Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara from this case.
It is notable that this is the 10th case in which the state police has cleared Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s name. Earlier the Samrala Police has filed a response in which he was cleared of 7 cases against him following which Mohali and Kharar police giving him clean chit in 2 cases pertaining to Arms Act.
