At RSS Behest To Win Over Sikhs, Center Revises ‘BlackList’

New Delhi: To gain ground among the Sikhs and present itself as their ‘sympathiser’ the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has got the blacklist of the Sikhs revised through the Central Government.

Centre has lifted the ban on more than 100 Sikhs, blacklisted after the outbreak of militancy in Punjab, and they can now travel to India, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reportedly said.

“The Sikhs had long been demanding revision of the black list. The process to further revise the list will continue,” he said at an event organised by the RSS-affiliated Rashtriya Sikh Sangat to supposedly mark the 350th Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

The blacklisted Sikhs are barred from travelling to India due to their alleged involvement in Freedom Struggle in the 80s and 90s. The list was prepared by the Indian security agencies.

“The BJP-led NDA government has always been sensitive to the demands of Sikhs, including justice for the victims of 1984 massacre in Delhi,” Rajnath Singh further claimed.

In a ‘prescript-ed’ rhetoric Rajnath Singh reportedly said that “Guru Gobind protected the country’s honour and culture. His ideals and legacy will continue to strengthen the country.”

Furthermore, to give an Indian nationalistic impression about Guru Sahib RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat while addressing the event stated that “Guru Gobind Singh’s contribution was a culmination of contribution by preceding Gurus in the context of political and social milieu during the invasion of Babar,” reads a quote from a report published in an English vernacular.

Takht Patna Sahib Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh, who the RSS claimed would preside over the function, skipped the programme, notes The Tribune (TT).
