Tributes Paid to Dal Khalsa Founding Member Bhai Manmohan Singh Khalsa; Activists vow Khalistan

Hoshiarpur: Pledging not to compromise with the objectives and mission set by its founder members, the Dal Khalsa today organized a Shardanjali Samagam at Singh Sabha gurdwara in memory of one of its founder Manmohan Singh Khalsa, who passed away in UK on Nov 20.

Panthic personalities across the spectrum paid rich tributes to him and hailed his commitment and contribution towards the Sikh cause. Hundreds of party activists led by their leaders Harpal Singh Cheema and H S Dhami attended the ceremony to pay tribute to his decades of service to numerous causes – in particular his commitment towards the Sikh goal for independence.

A single resolution adopted during the samagam stated that “Bhai Manmohan Singh left this world with his dream of Khalistan as closest to his heart. We commit to carry forward the struggle for right to self determination to fulfill the dreams of likes of Manmohan Singh”.

Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar head S. Simranjit Singh Mann, Head granthi Gaini Harpal Singh, SGPC members Karnail Singh Panjoli & Harjinder Singh Dhami, Khalsa Panchayat chairman Rajinder Singh, Akhand Kirtani Jatha representative R P Singh addressed the gathering and shared Manmohan’s long panthic innings with the sangat.

Significantly, Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara and Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara presently serving jail term sent their condolences message through their lawyers Simarjit Singh and Amar Singh Chahal.

Bhai Manmohan Singh left India following GoI placing Dal Khalsa on ban list. He reached the United Kingdom in early 1982 and lived in West London as a refugee, never returning to India.

Simranjit Singh Mann in his address said from his base in West London, Bhai Manmohan Singh became a leading advocate for the Sikh freedom struggle. He played a vital role in bringing Muslim and Sikh groups in UK and Pakistan together for their common cause.

Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema told gathering that when Indian govt pruned the blacklist and removed his name from the list, he refuses to come back as a defeated person. He proclaimed that he would die in foreign land as rebel.

Bhai Cheema said his sons and daughter has decided not to take his ashes to India. Rather it will be taken to Nankana Sahib and immersed into Ravi in Pakistan.
