Chandigarh: In a statement issued today, the Punjab Government declared holiday on Parkash Dihara of Bhagat Ravidas Ji on January 31, 2018 under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
The statement issued by the state government said that the holiday is declared in continuation of notification No.6/7/2017-2PP3/ 596-600 dated 27.12.2017, under the Explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Notification NO.20-25/26/Pub.1, dated 08.06.1957.
An official spokesman of Punjab government said that this has been issued in accordance with the directions issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance and Department of Economic Affairs (Banking division), New Delhi.
