Amritsar Sahib: The pro-freedom group of the Sikhs Dal Khalsa on 28th January 2018 held a conference on ‘Right to Self-Determination’ at Amritsar Sahib. In this conference the legal validity of the right to self determination and its importance in current scenario was discussed. The Pro-Freedom Sikh group’s focus was on the fact that the United Nations has recognised people’s right to self determination but Indian state is denying this right to various people inhabiting the Indian peninsula.
It was stressed in the conference that by denying this right, the Indian state is violating the basic human right and still it claims itself to be world’s largest democracy.
