FSO leaders Loveshinder Singh Dallewal, Kuldeep Singh Chaheru and Joga Singh said in a written statement (copy available with the Sikh Siyasat News) that the Indian Army chief is trying to project himself as ‘infamous’ former chief of Indian Army Arun Vaidhya who had carried out Indian state’s order to attack Darbar Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwara Sahibs in Punjab and adjoining states in June 1984. FSO leaders also noted that Arun Vaidhya’s predecessor General K. Sundarji had refused to carry out the army attack on Darbar Sahib.

FSO leaders said that by advocating action in Punjab Indian Army chief has expressed his anti-Sikh mindset. They said that India is using its military to suppress the rightful civilian voices whereas the Army as a general rule is meant to for external defense. They claimed that Indian army chief’s statement was part of deeper conspiracy against Sikhs and other struggling nations of the peninsula.
