Sikh Political Prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Acquitted Of Sedition Charges

Ludhiana:  The court of Additional Sessions Judge Anjana at Ludhiana district court here on Friday acquitted Harminder Singh, a Sikh political prisoner of the suspected sedition charges.

The court found nothing incriminating against the accused pertaining to the charges leveled by the prosecution.

The case against Bhai Harminder Singh and others was registered in Raikot police station under sections 120-B, 121, 121-A, 123, 153, 153-A IPC, 10,11,13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and under sections of 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance Act, 1908. Bhai Harminder Singh was declared a proclaimed offender was arrested in 2010. He was released on bail in 2015.

His defense lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Majhpur reportedly said Harminder Singh had earlier been acquitted in the Shingaar Cinema bomb blast case and an RDX recovery case.
