Sangrur: As per the media reports a local court here in Sangrur on Friday acquitted 56 persons, who were accused of damaging a Dera Sauda Sirsa’s so called Naam Charcha Ghar (congregation centre) and allegedly assaulting dera supporters Sadha Singh and Ajaib Singh at Sunam in April 2008.

The case had been registered on the duo’s complaint, almost a year after dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim had kicked up a row by imitating Guru Gobind Singh Sahib.
“The court of Additional Sessions Judge Sanjeev Joshi acquitted the accused,” said defense counsel Narpal Singh Dhaliwal, notes The Tribune (TT).
