Chandigarh/ Jalandhar: It is learnt that a team of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) today raided at the house of in-laws of arrested Scottish citizen Jagtar Singh Jaggi at village Sohal Jagir in Jalandhar district. Jagtar Singh Jaggi’s defence council Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the NIA is presently conducting search in the house of Jaggi’s in-laws. The team is also accompanied by NIA’s lady Inspector Sanjukta and it seeks to ask some questions to Jagtar Singh Jaggi’s wife.

“I am waiting for details about NIA’s raid and questioning of Jagtar Singh Jaggi’s wife but at the face value it appears to be a harassment tactic which may be aimed at pressurising Jagtar Singh Jaggi who is presently in the custody of NIA” said Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur while adding that nothing incriminating or objectionable has been recovered from Jagtar Singh Jaggi so far by Punjab police or the NIA during prolonged police remand of nearly two months now.
Jagtar Singh Jaggi’s father in law Balwinder Singh said that the village Panchayat is also present in their house during NIA’s raid.
It is notable that earlier Punjab police had also raided Jagtar Singh Jaggi’s ancestral house as well as house of his in-laws but nothing objectionable was recovered during those raids too.
