Jalandhar: It was a no holdbarred slanging match between SAD’s senior deputy mayor Kamaljit Singh Bhatia and SAD councillor Pritam Singh on a WhatsApp group of SAD and BJP councillors, in which both used expletives against each other. SAD and BJP councillors have a group Akali VS BJP, in which councillors of both the parties and some other senior leaders are members.
The ugly spat started on Sunday morning when Bhatia posted news stories which pertained to a protest against Pritam Singh. A suppor ter of Bhatia called Pritam Singh and his entire family `chor’.
To this Bhatia’s son responded with even stronger filthy abuses. As this ugly conversation continued unabated, district SAD unit urban president Gurcharan Singh Channi felt so uncomfortable that he left the group. The spat continued till noon and stopped after other leaders intervened. “The SAD leaders exposing the darker side of each other and others are enjoying,“ said a BJP councillor.Both Bhatia and Pritam Singh have been opposing each other for long. While Bhatia has been opposing BJP mayor Sunil Jyoti, Pritam Singh is a known loyalist. However, this was for the first time that their spat turned so ugly.
